6AM - 2PM T - S or would consider 12 hours over 4 days (W - S)

4PM - 12PM M- F or would consider 12 hours over 4 days (M - T)

Must be available to support weekends when required.

Impact

The People Advisor is a core member of the People function, providing high-quality, proactive support across the full employee lifecycle. The role is split broadly equally across five core areas: Employee Relations, HR Systems, Learning & Development, Recruitment, and Payroll/People Administration. A key success factor for this role is the ability to act as a coach, analytical problem-solver, and systems-savvy advisor, delivering consistent, compliant and value-adding solutions to the organisation.

The role will work closely with Operations Managers, Supervisors and frontline leaders, supporting both day and night shift employees with fair, effective and timely people support. The individual will be responsive, visible and able to build trust across 24-hour operational environments, ensuring clarity, capability-building and consistent process execution.

The role promotes ethical, legally compliant and values-led people practices, working in line with ACAS Codes of Practice and CIPD professional standards. The successful candidate will be naturally curious, comfortable working with HR systems, automation tools and AI-enabled workflow optimisation, and able to translate data into practical business insight. Familiarity with psychometrics (ideally Insights Discovery) is desirable, as the role supports capability-building, coaching and leadership development.

Responsibilities

Employee Relations (ER) – 20%

  • Provide accurate and timely advice on ER matters including performance, absence, capability, wellbeing, conduct, and grievance.
  • Provide ER advice and coaching across day and night shifts, ensuring supervisors and managers have access to timely and consistent guidance, documentation and support.
  • Support managers in operating fair, compliant and proportionate processes in line with UK employment law and internal policy.
