Role Overview:

The role of Data Product Owner consists of being the main interaction point between Product & Technology teams. You will bridge technical and business worlds as you continually deliver improvements and innovative features across the full range of products. You will have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive the product experience. Your exceptional communication skills will be key, adapting to a high paced environment and constant interactions with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Understand product/commercial needs and how these are translated into functional and technical requirements

• Elicit requirements from a broad range of stakeholders, refining them into user stories for tech teams

• Understand and balance commercial needs against technical requirements and capabilities

• Challenge requirements that do not fit the owned product's general strategy or conflict with the needs of other stakeholders/other product areas, seeking to resolve and reach mutual outcomes

• Identify dependencies between requirements and product areas, while ensuring transparency for all parties

• Identify risks and raise concerns in due time where applicable; ensuring mitigation options are clearly articulated

• Maintain a groomed and prioritized backlog of user stories for projects with multiple dependencies, retaining focus on the agreed scope of the iteration

• Work with the squad leadership to remove blockers for the squad

• Understand the dependencies between technology components and how they combine to deliver solutions to the end consumer and to the business Work closely with Product Managers to ensure initiatives continue to align with the overall product strategy in the area they own

• Contribute to operational readiness processes for new releases and provide product training to stakeholders

• Ensure that all solutions meet company-wide standards in terms of non-functional performance, security, compliance, social responsibility

• Contribute to clear stakeholder communication and management

• Ensure the squad's work supports the long-term vision and priorities for your Data Product area

• Review and react to measurable Data Product objectives and success metrics to achieve the Product strategy.

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

• Proven experience in a similar role

• Excellent written & verbal communication skills

• Strong experience in defining business requirements

• Experience in influencing working practice changes across analysis and development department

• Ability to relate to both business, design & technical specialists

• Strong relationship management skills

• Experience in working across Agile methodologies

• Experience with integrating 3rd party feed providers
