The Opportunity:
Under the direction of the Regional Meeting Program Administrator, this position will facilitate Youth and Family Meetings primarily for the Moses Lake office, while also providing back-up Youth and Family Meeting facilitation for other offices throughout Region 1.
Some of what you will get to do:
- Facilitate meetings for families and other participants within policy timelines to ensure permanency is reached and to make safe and least restrictive placement decisions for children.
- Lead regional professional social services staff engaged in activities associated with the strength-based identified model, including the identified model meeting process.
- Track, schedule, and facilitate permanency planning meetings.
- Identify safety threats, strengths, needs, protective factors, and conditions for return home in behavioral terms at meetings.
- Draft and analyze proposed action plans for the safe placement of children.
- Provide consultation, guidance, and training on family meeting practices and principles.
- Complete thorough and timely data collection for individual and regional program reporting.
- Network and develop relationships with community partners to support caregivers and families who work with DCYF.
Required Qualifications:
Equivalent education and experience totaling nine years in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.
OR
One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent,
OR
Two years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent,
OR
A Bachelor's degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field; and five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs,
OR
A Master's degree or higher in social work, a health or social science, public administration or a related field, and four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs,
AND
- The ability to take action to learn and grow.
- The ability to take action to meet the needs of others.
In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following:
- Previous demonstrated extensive knowledge of federal and state child welfare laws and regulations.
