About the role

Description

The Department of Management at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure Professor of the Practice, with administrative titles of Associate Dean and Executive Director for the Center of Executive Development position with a 9-month academic appointment beginning July 1, 2025. The successful candidate is expected to direct and teach courses realted to leadership, strategy, organizational development, or other areas aligned with exective education.  The successful candidate is encouraged to participate in research and service consistent with their faculty rank. The Associate Dean and the Executive Director of the Center for Executive Development (CED) is a senior leadership role responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and execution of executive education at Mays Business School. The Associate Dean and Executive Director will serve as a key advisor and thought leader on executive learning, talent development, and institutional partnerships. This individual will lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with faculty to deliver cutting-edge, practice-based programs, and build strategic alliances with corporate leaders and global organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

·  Lead, mentor, and inspire faculty and staff, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and    continuous improvement.

·   Act as a primary liaison between the university and external partners – including Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and industry groups—to expand program reach and impact.

 

·   Serve as a senior advisor on executive talent development, organizational learning strategies, and applied research initiatives.

 

·   Ensure operational excellence, including financial stewardship, budgeting, compliance, and the effective use of learning technologies and systems.

·  Represent the CED in strategic planning efforts, cross-campus initiatives, and national or global conversations about the future of executive education.

·      Build and manage high-level partnerships that support faculty coaching, custom program design, and enterprise-level learning solutions.

Qualifications

Applicants for this position must possess:

  • Demonstrated experience leading large teams, complex budgets, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Have an extraordinary record of accomplishment in an applied setting.
  • Expertise in executive coaching, organizational development, strategic planning, and human capital strategy.
  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles, leadership development, and the evolving landscape of corporate education.
  • Proven ability to operate at the intersection of academia and industry, effectively bridging research with real-world business outcomes.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Masters in Business Administration.
