This is a Hybrid role in Plantation, FL.

Position Summary

Thales Cyber Security Products seeks a motivated second-year university student for an internship on our Hardware Team. The successful candidate will work closely with experienced hardware engineers, gaining hands-on experience in Digital Electronics design. This internship offers exposure to a range of hardware development activities, including Printed Circuit Board (PCB) testing, thermal testing, test scripting, and general support for the hardware engineering team.

The intern will participate in the validation and verification of digital hardware designs by performing a variety of laboratory tests, collecting data, documenting results, and troubleshooting hardware issues. They will also assist in automation of test processes using scripting languages and contribute to continuous improvement of existing hardware products.

This is an excellent opportunity for students looking to apply their coursework in a real-world engineering environment, develop technical skills, and gain insight into the hardware development lifecycle within a leading global cyber security company.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Support hardware engineers in the testing and validation of digital electronic circuits and PCBs

  • Conduct thermal testing and environmental characterization of hardware products

  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for hardware validation

  • Assist with debugging, failure analysis, and hardware troubleshooting

  • Document test procedures, results, and findings clearly and accurately

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support ongoing hardware development and improvement activities              

Basic Qualifications

  • Completed 2 years of a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.

  • Basic knowledge of digital electronics and PCB design

  • Familiarity with test equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, power supply, etc.) is a plus

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (such as Python, MATLAB, or similar) is desirable

  • Eagerness to learn, attention to detail, and strong communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

Special Position Requirements

Schedule: In office, 4-5 days/week.
