Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer (Commercial Insurance)
Hybrid | Contract-to-Hire (6 months) | Mid–Senior Level | $43 per hour Build and scale Azure AI–driven solutions in a regulated commercial insurance environmentA consulting organization supporting enterprise insurance clients is seeking a Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer to design, build, and support cloud-native applications leveraging Microsoft Azure and AI services. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer with deep backend expertise, hands-on Azure experience, and a strong understanding of commercial insurance systems.
Position Overview
The Senior Azure AI / .NET Engineer will be responsible for developing scalable backend services, integrating Azure AI capabilities, and supporting enterprise-grade insurance platforms. This role combines modern cloud engineering, API development, and applied AI within a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using C# .NET

Build and maintain RESTful APIs supporting commercial insurance workflows

Implement AI-enabled features using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI and Azure Foundry

Develop and deploy solutions across Azure services including Container Apps, API Management, App Gateway, Key Vault, App Services, Logic Apps, and SQL Managed Instance

Implement Infrastructure-as-Code using Bicep, ARM templates, or Terraform

Collaborate with agile teams to deliver features across release trains

Ensure solutions meet security, compliance, and performance standards

Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and documentation
Requirements
Required Qualifications

Minimum 7 years of experience in Commercial Insurance

8–10 years of overall software engineering experience

Strong proficiency in C# .NET and API design and development

Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud services

Experience using Azure AI services, including Azure OpenAI

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Preferred Experience & Skills

Experience working on agile teams and release trains

Familiarity with SAFe frameworks

Experience with Angular and front-end integrations

Strong SQL experience

Property & Casualty insurance experience
