Blend is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Equity Administration Lead to take ownership of the day-to-day management and strategic oversight of our global equity compensation programs. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and seamless execution of all equity-related activities, and will work closely with leadership across Finance, Legal, HR, and Payroll.

 

***This is an in-office role, 4 days a week, based in North Hills. We are accepting candidates only based out of Raleigh, NC***

 

How you will contribute:

Equity Plan Management & Operations

  • Manage the end-to-end administration of all global equity plans, including Stock Options, Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Performance Stock Units (PSUs).
  • Process all equity transactions accurately and timely, including new grants, vesting events, exercises, releases, and terminations.
  • Track and monitor market-based Performance Stock Units (PSUs).
  • Maintain the integrity of all equity data in the stock administration platform (Schwab), ensuring accurate record-keeping and reconciliation with HR, Payroll, and Legal records.
  • Oversee the relationship with the third-party stock plan administrator and broker (Computershare), ensuring high-quality service and efficient data exchange.
  • Develop, implement, and document scalable and efficient processes and internal controls (including SOX compliance) for all equity administration activities.

Lead cross-functional projects to enhance equity administration and system transformation. Reporting and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all domestic and international (India) tax, legal, and regulatory requirements related to equity compensation (e.g., country-specific tax withholding, reporting, securities filings).
  • Partner with the Accounting team to ensure proper accounting treatment for equity awards in accordance with ASC 718 and support all internal and external audit requests.
  • Work with the Legal team to manage insider trading compliance, including pre-clearance procedures and timely filing of Section 16 reports (Forms 3, 4, and 5) with the SEC.
  • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for Finance, HR, Legal, and executive leadership, including dilution analysis, stock utilization, and compensation committee materials.
  • Perform year-end reporting (1099-NEC’s and 3921’s)
  • Coordinate with the Legal team and Schwab on 10b5-1 plans, the preclearance list, and Blend’s trading window. 

Employee Service and Education

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries regarding equity awards, vesting schedules, and plan provisions, ensuring accurate and courteous responses.
  • Develop and deliver clear, engaging educational materials, presentations, and communication strategies to help employees understand the value and mechanics of their equity compensation.

Strategic Leadership and Projects

  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic input to the Total Rewards team on the design, structure, and market competitiveness of new and existing equity programs.
  • Stay current on best practices, regulatory changes, and industry trends related to global equity compensation.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in stock plan administration, preferably for a global public company.
  • Deep knowledge of global equity programs, including tax, legal, and accounting implications.
  • Hands-on experience with a major equity administration platform (experience with Schwab preferred).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, managing large data sets).
  • Exceptional attention to detail, process-orientation, and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the proven ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to all levels of employees and external partners.
