The Opportunity

The Business Relationship Leader (BRL) is a senior-level, strategic business partner responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with our clients and stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met and their expectations are exceeded. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the IT industry, and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies. The BRL  will focus on delivering business value, owning business critical relationships, and serving as a single point of focus for the interaction between Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) and business partners. The BRL is integral to ensuring decisions regarding D&IT products and services align with strategic business goals and objectives while fostering positive customer experience.   

 

The BRL will contribute to the business leadership team by actively partnering with business peers to determine strategic direction. The BRL will work to identify ways to support and advance business objectives including persistent or significant D&IT operational issues that require resolution. 

The Team

Black & Veatch’s Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Advocate for secure, resilient, and scalable digital capabilities while ensuring a positive customer experience. 
• Support one or more Solutions with a focus on building and maintaining positive relationships with clients and stakeholders 
• Identify opportunities for growth and development of client relationships 
• Ensure that client needs are being met and their expectations are exceeded Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement business strategies, strategic roadmaps, business cases, and value plans 
• Lead as the strategic interface between D&IT and business partner to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand and ensure that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized. 
• Manage requests through the D&IT demand process  
• Coach business leaders and enable them to articulate their function’s (i.e. capability, technology, people, etc.) needs and requirements that will advance business performance, leverage digital capabilities, and foster positive BV professionals and BV customer experiences. 
• Partner with Application Portfolio Managers and Project Managers for execution and delivery.  
• Partner with Business Analysts and the Architecture team to develop and maintain multi-year business capability roadmaps that support the digital product operating model. 
• Partner with business teams (change management) to ensure effective transformation for all initiatives.
