Job Title: Maintenance Technician Level II

Position Details
Safety, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and support set up of paper converting production machines in a 24/7 operation.
Education and Experience Requirements
High School or equivalent required
Basic Electricity and Electronics.
Batteries and DC Circuits.
Transformers and AC Circuits.
Electrical Measuring Instruments.
Electrical Safety and Protection.
Singles-Phase Motors.
Three-Phase Motors.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure maintenance activities performed on equipment meet or exceed the manufacturer’s requirements for quality and reliability.
- Ensure manufacturer warranties remain effective by adhering to necessary safeguards and guidelines.
- Perform troubleshooting, machine repairs, and replace components, as required.
- Perform preventative maintenance and cleaning of machines and plants systems.
- Proficient in basic methods of measuring current, voltage, and resistance during electrical troubleshooting procedures.
- Understanding the use of circuit components and trouble shoot circuit issues.
- Fabricate equipment as required.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Will demonstrate proficient use of, and maintenance of Electric Measuring Instruments including voltmeter, ammeter, wattmeter, ohmmeter, and megohmmeter.
- Possess expert knowledge of Electrical Safety and Protection protocols and devices, including but not limited to fuses, circuit breakers, and motor protection devices, interlocks, etc. That knowledge and skill is used to determine electrical hazards and ensure a safe work environment, through the correct use of PPE, Lockout/Tagout and First Aid.
- Possess expert knowledge of the types and operating principles of common single-phase motors. Can identify motor leads on split-phase, capacitor-start, capacitor-run, permanent split capacitor and repulsion motors, and other special types, including synchro and servo systems. Able to diagnose motor problems and perform basic repairs and/or replace and test motors.
- Possess a working knowledge of three-phase power distribution and motor principles for induction, synchronous, and multi-speed dual-voltage motors. Ability to perform recommended maintenance for AC motors and perform diagnosis and basic repairs, or replacement of three-phase motors and starters.
- Ability to perform basic diagnosis and repairs on DC and AC control system devices, including but not limited to, pushbutton control stations, limit switches, mercury switches, mechanical and magnetic switches, foot switches, encoders, overspeed and overload protection, drum and reversing controllers, dynamic braking, DC power supplies, etc.
- Maintain plant support systems in working order, i.e., heat, air, fans, air compressors and dryers, etc.
- Responsible for housekeeping in parts room, shop, and air compressor rooms. Ensure work areas are neat, organized, and safe.
