Job Summary:

The Clinic Community Liaison will be responsible for coordinating multiple research and family-support initiatives within a 20-hour work week, including overseeing the DSResearch inbox, responding to inquiries, and facilitating communication between families, clinicians, and research professionals. Duties include conducting prescreens and associated planning and follow-up activities, supporting related projects through outreach and relationship management, and providing guidance to families regarding medical, educational, and professional resources while documenting findings and outcomes. Additional responsibilities include introducing families to the physicians throughout the U.S. and globally, participating in meetings, and preparing or reviewing written documents related to clinical trial activities and family engagement efforts.  Being an advocate of the ‘family voice’ is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Guide outreach initiatives to connect families to clinical studies and trials. Aid with enrollment of research participants with Down syndrome in research studies.

• Work with the Clinical and Translational Science Program Director to develop and implement outreach and recruitment goals for clinical trials, and communicate with a variety of project stakeholders.

• Provide advice in the design, writing, review, and amending of participant-facing study-related essential documents, including informed consent forms, assent forms, standard operating procedures, recruitment materials, etc

• Manage day-to-day communications between research coordinators, clinical staff, and participant families 

• Partner closely with foundational networks and advocacy groups to connect families to services in their home community or nationally

• Present at workshops and conferences to educate audiences about the work and initiatives of the Crnic Institute

Work Location:

Remote – this role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.
