<p>We are looking for an experienced and proactive Front-end Engineer, with Scrum Master ambitions, to join our Core Team.</p> <p>Studyportals headquarters is in Strijp-S, Eindhoven, the Netherlands. Want to know more?</p><p><strong>Why are we searching for you?</strong></p><p>To help many students as possible, we need to build and improve our functionality to grow significantly in users and conversion through technical excellence and next-level product thinking. New landing pages specifically designed to optimally convert users, redesign our user account functionality, create functionality that taps into the student’s decision-making journey and create a search/selection engine that will help students to find their best matching dream study. Next to that we need to overall improve our user engagement so we can help students find the best fitting studies! <br/> In short, there are enough (technical) challenges for you to dig in to. We value initiative greatly!</p><p></p><p><strong>What are your three main goals?</strong></p><ul> <li>Increasing the user engagement within the core functionality of our platform. You will be elevating the product value throughout the whole site, to increase user engagement, loyalty, and retention with your (technical) expertise.</li> </ul><ul> <li>Help us to become more scalable as a platform, by decoupling our dependencies and driving our microservice architecture. Staying in control of quality is key!</li> <li>Share your knowledge with your team members and develop yourself further as a developer by using your personal development budget to learn new technologies or methods.</li> </ul><p></p><p><strong>How does your team look like?</strong></p><p>The Product Engineering department consists of 40 people. You are part of a scrum team of 4. Your Product Owner sets the product priorities. You are, together with the Product Owner, responsible for designing and implementing new functionalities aimed at growing our user engagement targets. This means that you, as a developer, have influence on what to build, and how to build it. You report to our Software Development Manager, Stefan. He started as a developer at Studyportals and knows his way around the systems. His main responsibility is to make sure you can do your work in the best possible way, taking away impediments, drive technical innovation and make sure you can be the best version of yourself.</p><p></p><p><strong>What Tech Stack do we use?</strong></p><p>Almost all our systems have been developed in-house and are following modern quality standards. We work in a service-oriented architecture, powered by our own RESTful API and AWS. Our products are powered by VueJS, Node/NPM, TypeScript, Sass. In parallel, we are scaling up our infrastructure, moving towards Docker and our centralized CI/CD tooling.</p><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><ul> <li>At least a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science or a related field.</li> <li>You have <strong>5+ years</strong> of working experience in a similar role.</li> <li>You will be motivated to pick up the Scrum Master role within the team. You have great experience with Agile processes.</li> <li>Experience building applications in JavaScript component-based frameworks (e.g., VueJS, React or Angular). Modern JavaScript, TypeScript, NPM and Webpack. And experience in developing advanced applications using any object-oriented language, such as PHP, C#, or Java.</li> <li>HTML5, CSS3/SCSS are child’s play for you in your day-to-day work.</li> <li>You have experience with persistent data structures such as MySQL or NoSQL.</li> <li>Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or any other Cloud Computing Platform (e.g. Azure, Google Cloud Platform).</li> <li>Experience with (different types of) automated testing as part of CI/CD driven software development.</li> <li>You like to collaborate, appreciate open communication, and are comfortable with working cross-functionally.</li> </ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong></p><ul> <li>Competitive salary including a bonus and pension</li> <li>32 vacation days (including bank holidays) based on full-time employment, and you have the flexibility to take your holidays whenever you want (e.g., be off on Chinese New Year instead of King’s Day)</li> <li>Possibility to buy/sell up to 5 vacation days out of your annual balance</li> <li>Budget for arrangin
