How You’ll Add Value…
We are seeking a hands on and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. You will manage accounting activities for the Sample Management Solutions business ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. This role will be responsible for monthly closing of financial accounts, and preparation of reports in support of the financial statements.
This role will report to the US Senior Accounting Manager for Sample Management Solutions and will work closely with accounting & finance staff across Azenta.
What You’ll Do…
- Perform financial accounting activities for the assigned areas to support the Sample Management Solutions business.
- Reconcile inter-company transactions, ensure transactions balance between related parties.
- Review intercompany transactions, review profit elimination between entities to ensure proper accounting of Balance Sheet and Income Statement.
- Perform reserve analysis on assigned areas such as Rebates, Warranty, Other General Liabilities and ensure proper recognition of cost and revenue.
- Lead month-end closing activities related to the operating company in the assigned areas, including account reconciliations.
- Analyze complex accounting areas and identify trends, accruals, and necessary actions. Create journal entries
- Ensure execution of control procedures as per the policies for the assigned areas, review & report any control gaps proactively and work with broader accounting & finance function on corrective actions.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account analyses and reconciliations, complete Flux, provide commentary and explanation on balance changes.
- Collaborate with other accounting & finance teams on matters relating to Accounts Payable, Fixed Assets, Accounts Receivable, Cost Accounting and other general accounting.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and overall Balance sheet items responsible for.
- Coordinate with Corporate accounting on matters relating to general accounting, chart of accounts management.
What you will Bring…
- A Bachelor’s degree in either Accounting or Finance; an MBA, CMA or CA is a plus
- 3+ years or progressive experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cost and inventory accounting concepts under US GAAP
- Roll-up your sleeves approach and ability to problem solve
- Experience with accounting software applications, ERP systems and Microsoft Office suite required. Knowledge of the Oracle Cloud ERP, OneStream is a plus
- Strong process focus & improvement mindset; Six Sigma and/or Lean trained; strong project management skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to multi-task in complex and dynamic environments
- Experience working at a global company in a SOX compliant environment.
Working Conditions/ Schedule
- Hybrid - Indianapolis (aligned to company policy 4 days in office)
- Occasional travel may be required (not expected to be more than 10%)
