Job Summary:

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Financial Analyst Lead to join our productivity team. This role is critical in driving operational excellence and supporting provider efficiency across the organization. You will lead initiatives to analyze, interpret, and optimize provider productivity metrics, collaborating closely with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders.

Job Duties:

​Responsible for supporting the advancement of the overall financial performance of Geisinger Health and its subsidiaries.  Informs decision making and ensures goal achievement by providing insightful and actionable financial analytics, maintaining accurate and reliable data, and supporting financial improvement initiatives.  Provides leadership within the department by mentoring analysts and assisting to develop a high performing team.  The Lead must be customer-oriented, self-directed, and work collaboratively with peers internal and external to support enterprise financial, operational, and strategic goals.

  • Assists Manager with evaluation and implementation of best practice processes and methodologies to continuously improve the accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains expertise in financial software, templates, and tools.
  • Assesses and evaluates analytical results and scenarios providing actionable analysis and guidance to Finance Partners, operational leaders, and clinicians as appropriate.
  • Collaborates with Finance Partners to identify opportunities to improve financial clinical outcomes through cost variation and quality metric analysis.
  • Develops and maintains dashboards, reports, and self-service portals.
  • Assists Manager with development and maintenance of procedural controls and process documentation.
  • Collaborates with the other Financial Planning & Analytics teams to maintain structural and data integrity within the enterprise software platform.
  • Assists Manager with external vendor coordination for issue escalation and resolution and new functionality implementation.
  • Assists Manager with development and provision of end user training.
  • Participates in special projects, committees, and initiatives as assigned to support finance and/or operational initiatives.

Position Details:

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile, analyze and maintain the monthly reporting of provider productivity excel files, dashboards, scorecards, and other reporting tools.
  • Analyze provider performance data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Calculate, analyze, and maintain yearly provider Benchmarks
  • Partner with clinical leadership to establish productivity targets aligned with organizational goals.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems and reporting platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 6+ years of experience in healthcare analytics, provider performance, or financial analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in advanced Excel skills.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is a plus.
  • Experience with EMR systems, productivity benchmarks (e.g., wRVUs), and healthcare operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional projects and drive measurable outcomes.
