Senior Lease Accountant

We are currently expanding and looking to add a motivated individual to our team based out of our Brampton office.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the procurement team and business function teams to collect copies of all leases.
• Tracking leases with upcoming changes to ensure timely and accurate accounting of updates (i.e. terminations and modifications).
• Generate the lease accounting schedules and review for accuracy.
• Supporting month-end and year-end close processes for leases and restructuring and preparing reconciliations for related balance sheet accounts.
• Accounting for lease terminations and modifications, as well as sublease accounting.
• Prepares or assists in preparation of schedules to be provided to the external and internal auditors.
• Responsible for lease accounting transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Finance/ CPA Candidate
• 4+ years of experience in the related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quickly.
• Previous experience with QuickBooks and Sage 300 will be an asset.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, MS Outlook.
• Ability to process large volume of invoices and payments, while prioritizing competing tasks.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work under tight deadlines with competing and shifting priorities
