Job Description:

The Project Control Advisor will be a hybrid technical and programme planning focused role that supports the Head of Build and Build team. The role will support across all functions keeping the programme on track through a master schedule, resolving project or technical issues, improving delivery performance and giving leadership the visibility needed to make fast, informed decisions.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement and maintain a L1-2 programme schedule with the guidance and structure from the Build CoE using tools such as MS Projects or similar.

  • Support the development and tracking of the programme performance framework (KPIs). This should include measures such as cycle time (SSD), site throughput, cost performance, contractor performance & DNO timelines.

  • Produce dashboards and executive reports for the senior leadership using in-house systems and guidance from the Build CoE.

  • Deliver day-to-day planning, program portfolio management, performance reporting, schedule integration and analysis interfacing with senior leadership

  • Support progress meetings, technical reviews, and performance forums.

  • Provide quality assurance of detailed schedules covering activities from Appraise through to Operations.

  • Provide quality assurance & support for planning activities through the Project Leads of the contractors chosen to execute the program of work.

  • Ensure that schedule learning from complementary work in other regions and benchmarks worked with the Build CoE are captured.

  • Conduct root-cause analyses on delays, cost overruns, or quality issues and present clear recommendations.

  • Assess and guide Project Leads to ensure schedule submittals from EPC and suppliers conform with requirements.

  • Provide analytical data to support the identification of bottlenecks, trends and systemic issues.

  • Promote collaborative information sharing with team members and contractors.

  • Support development and maintenance of up-to-date schedule benchmarks.

  • Support the development of the 6 monthly bottoms up GFO plan with the support from the Build CoE.

  • Maintain programme-level risk registers, including real-estate, technical, schedule, and supply-chain risks.

  • Support the use of data systems and tools across the Build team

Essential Education:

Degree in Engineering, Technical Discipline or Project Management or equivalent experience

Job Requirements:

  • Experience in planning and scheduling activities on multi-disciplinary large-scale projects/ programmes.

  • Solid, broad-based project experience in the different phases of the projects with an excellent track record of delivery.

  • Experience of early-stage planning for medium to large projects (pre-execute) to understand the wider project context, business drivers and development of Project Coordination Procedures.

  • Well-developed support / knowledge management networks, Understanding of current schedule best practices

  • Bias for simplification and efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business.

  • Ability to produce high quality written reports and summary presentations – able to communicate clarity from complexity.

  • Analytical and data driven mind set, keen eye for accuracy across reporting.

  • Ability to harness use of digital tools to provide high quality reporting information.

  • Excellent teamwork skills, including the ability to work with various sub-teams to resolve issues and reach decisions that are in the best interest of the program.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and bring direction when processes are not clear.

  • Proven influencing and clear communication skills

  • Able to create a performance culture that is designed to deliver success.

  • Competent with computers and IT including experience of using standard productivity software. Experience in data analytics, ability to draw out performance metrics to evaluate plans

  • Ability to keep things simple – Focus on efficiency with focus on fit-for-purpose deliverables that meet the needs of the business.

  • Interest the EV market and the issues around an EV charging network.
