Job Summary:

The Next Generation Fighter Engines Program Office seeks a team-oriented, self-motivated, -guided, and -aware leader to excel in a Technical Program Manger role.  The ideal candidate continually and calmly guides team efforts toward overall objectives in extreme VUCA environments.  Due to special contracts and program requirements, U.S. Citizenship and work within secure environments are required.

Pratt & Whitney Next Generation Fighter Engine executes the premier engine development programs for USG future fighter applications.  The Program Office has the ultimate responsibility to motivate, guide, inspire, direct and collaborate with all Pratt & Whitney functional organizations to win future engagements, meet contractual requirements, and responsibly spend company and customer funds.  The Program Office interacts with senior leadership, USG customers, and multiple air frame primes.  This program office is uniquely positioned to continue Pratt & Whitney Military Engines’ legacy of fighter propulsion leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead one or more major program elements:
  • Proposal development, execution, and transition of work content into program.
  • Engine design and industrial execution.
  • Cost, schedule, and resource projections.
  • Contract requirement preparation and delivery.
  • Security, data, technology, financial, and other program plans.
  • Program Manager alternate; represent program interests to leadership, customers, and team.
  • Implement program plans in collaboration with engineering and functional support areas.
  • Approval of material, program access, right-of-use, risk, issues, opportunities lead.
  • Documentation and alignment of Program processes.
  • Develops, coaches, and motivates others to perform.
     

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, Engineering, or Technical Degree are preferred areas of study required with 10+ years leading engineering or technical project teams in Aerospace and Defense or other highly regulated industry experience required, OR, advanced degree with 7+ years of leading engineering or technical project teams in Aerospace and Defense or other highly regulated industry experience required.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with defense contracting, EVMS, and Scheduling Tools.
  • Results-driven leadership and project management skills on project(s) with significant scope.
  • Established ability to build collaborative relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to develop and present material to cross-functional teams.
