Position Summary
The Senior Endpoint Engineer is a HIGHLY SKILLED professional, proficient in Microsoft Modern Desktop management strategies, which includes understanding the deployment and management of Windows 11 and Microsoft 365 in an enterprise environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365 security and compliance capabilities, as well as managing identity, access, policies, updates, and apps, is crucial for effectively managing and securing endpoint devices and providing a modern enterprise workplace for users.
The engineer's responsibilities include developing, designing, and engineering solutions for cloud and desktop software, hardware, and mobile devices as well as designing, implementing, and maintaining current version of M365 products. They research, evaluate, test, and implement enterprise-wide cloud and desktop solutions. They also design and implement complex automated software delivery solutions and cloud computer provisioning.
The Senior Endpoint Engineer is responsible for documenting solutions to problems, developing end-user guidelines, and providing training on the hardware and software solutions they support. They develop, document, modify, and train global IT personnel on enterprise computing processes and procedures. A strong understanding of security best practices is essential, as endpoint devices are often prime targets for cyber-attacks.
The engineer is expected to research new and emerging technologies, propose potential proof of concept opportunities, test new technologies, and investigate potential new solutions for existing technologies within the organization. They also provide training for any new solutions they implement.
The role involves direct interaction with the business to identify and develop cloud and desktop solutions. Understanding multiple business segments and the impact of IT on their functions is vital. The Senior Endpoint Engineer provides technical escalation support to the Service Desk Analysts, Desktop Support Analyst, and Desktop Engineers, and works with vendors and IT Departments to resolve application and hardware issues.

What You'll do as a Senior Endpoint Engineer
Modern Endpoint Design and Build – 65%
- Designs, configures, and implements complex cloud and desktop hardware and software solutions.
- Designs, configures, and implements solutions using Microsoft 365 products, including but not limited to Office 365, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and Power Platform.
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends cloud and client software and hardware solutions.
- Collaborates with vendor support for the evaluation and implementation of new technology.
- Develops and implements complex technologies, including but not limited to, imaging services, cloud provisioning services, endpoint protection, backup solutions, and process automation.
- Provides training on the hardware and software solutions they support.
- Develops, documents, modifies, and trains global IT personnel on enterprise computing processes and standard operating procedures.
Project Management - 30%
- Serves as the project lead on technical projects aligned with the business plan.
- Participates in IT projects managed by the IT Project Management Office.
- Coordinates project implementation and manages deployment timelines.
- Develops and submits budget proposals and funding requests.
End User Support – 5%
- Provides technical support to Service Desk Analysts and Desktop Support Analysts.
- Collaborates with vendors and IT Departments to resolve application and hardware issues.
- Offers computer support for both facility-based and remote IT administrators globally.
- Handles the deployment of desktop and laptop hardware.
- Trains Service Desk Analysts, Desktop Support Analysts, and Desktop Engineers on standard configurations.
The Experience, Abilities and Skills Needed
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent vocational field is preferred.
- Cloud certifications are preferred (Azure Fundamentals, Endpoint Administrator)
- At least 5 years full time experience or equivalent on the job training is required.
- System support for client hardware platforms
- System and application support for Microsoft client platforms required.
- Scripting and Automation scripting required (PowerShell preferred).
