Job Description

As a Technical Enablement Architect at Palo Alto Networks, you are responsible for improving our technical sellers' product and industry knowledge, emphasizing sales effectiveness.  This goal is achieved by creating and delivering enablement programs consisting of technical product instruction, technical sales acumen, and cybersecurity industry knowledge.  All enablement efforts of this role contribute to educating and enabling technical sellers who interface with customers routinely.  The scope and function of this position require close coordination with Sales Engineering leadership, Product Management, Marketing, Channel Enablement, Education Services, and other Shared Services teams. This role will focus on the Network Security and Cloud-Delivered Security Services portfolio and report to the Director of Technical Enablement.

All candidates must have relevant Systems Engineering experience and an understanding of technical training methods and tools.  This role delivers enablement services across all technical seller roles.

Your Impact

  • Contribute to onboarding learning programs so new hire SEs can position, present, and demonstrate Palo Alto Networks network security solutions within 90 days of their start date.  
  • Maintain a deep technical understanding of network security products (Next Generation Firewall) and Cloud-Delivered Security Services, new product updates, and industry trends.
  • Lead ongoing technical enablement activities that help new hires develop skills to deliver effective customer presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations related to network security products (Next Generation Firewall) and Cloud-Delivered Security Services..
  • Implement technical enablement and discovery skills related to Network Security, specifically on Next Generation firewall strategy and architecture (Datacenter and Public/Private Cloud).
  • Lead ongoing technical enablement activities to teach SEs the newest innovations in Palo Alto Networks network security solutions so that SEs can effectively discover and qualify sales opportunities.
  • Develop learning paths to help SEs learn foundational knowledge and build advanced technical skills related to Network Security and Cloud-Delivered Security Services
  • Work with the Enablement Service Center to help curate information across multiple sources to build learning paths specifically for technical sellers.
  • Facilitate delivery of Network Security technical enablement sessions, workshops, assessments, and certifications, either remote or in person, to various GTM roles for continued education. 
  • Conduct stakeholder interlock meetings with Field leadership, PM, and Network Security Technical leadership to review a rolling 4 quarter enablement plan for feedback, refinement, and augmentation. 
  • Partner with the platform team to maintain the accuracy of CMS postings informing technical sellers of enablement updates, upcoming activities and requirements, and technical content. 
  • Educate SEs on using hands-on labs for SEs to improve their product knowledge and drive effective customer engagements to produce technical wins in the sales cycle.
