Job Description

Elbit America is seeking a talented principal level lead software development engineer to develop embedded software for military applications including live operations. The developer will lead a team of software developers to provide support for ongoing software development contracts, enhance existing software tools, and develop new software products. Candidate will work in multi-discipline development teams on all aspects of the development life cycle including requirements, design, coding, unit testing, and deployment. This is a software lead position, and the candidate needs to be self-motivated as well as able to motivate other software developers.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
• 12+ years’ experience
• Must have demonstrated embedded C/C++ experience
• Experience in firmware development (first stage bootloaders, etc.)
• Experience in full software development life cycle
• Experience in continuous improvement of engineering processes / software development
• Experience with board turn up and troubleshooting hardwre
• Basic lab debug skills/experience (use of scopes, multi-meters, emulators, etc).
• Experience in mentoring / teaching others
• Ability to lead and/or work with a team to derive software requirements
• Experience with Jira or other defect tracking tools
• Experience with version control systems (Gitlabs, git, subversion, etc)
• Prepare for design reviews and present material as part of both internal and external reviews
• Participate in peer design/code reviews for the more complex software design approaches
• Effective communication and documentation skills
• Must possess basic MS Office skills; Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, etc
• Ability to obtain Security Clearance

Preferred Skills

• Experience with image processing and implementation of other sensor based algorithms
• Experience in Python
• Experience with Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE); e.g. CAMEO
• Experience with standing up and maintaining automated testing
• Experience with Android development and/or familiarity with ATAK
