JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to the National HSSE and Compliance Senior Manager This role will be a key part of the Internal Fleet management team in the US at Circle K. The role will support the growth, streamline operational procedures, and support operations in mitigating safety risk and providing a strong safety culture. The candidate needs to be self-driven and have in depth knowledge of all relevant rules, regulations, and metrics applicable for tank truck carriers in the US (DOT, TSA/HAZMAT Security, OSHA, Federal D&A program, FMCSA HOS-Compliance and SMS/SAFER Scores).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following essential job duties, responsibilities, and requirements:

• Establish and monitor DOT compliance and hazardous material program.
• Work with fleet managers and Senior Management to support Circle K’s efforts to provide a safe efficient fleet.
• Support the relevant fleet personnel by monitoring safety programs.
• Continuously improve the Safety program which includes regularly scheduled terminal visits and audits
• Assist with DOT compliance, insurance liability and worker compensation claims.
• Conduct in person quarterly safety meetings at each fleet terminal
• Conduct bi- annual fleet terminal inspection audits on the fleets and ensure follow up and corrective actions are complete, escalate safety matters as needed
• Assist in incident/accident investigations, analysis, root cause, preparation of reports; complete incident summaries and management follow up.
• Maintain logbook compliance records and retention. Audit 10% of driver logs monthly to ensure DOT compliance.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• 5+ years’ experience preferred in the following Industries:
  • Vacuum, Pump Trucks
  • Commercial Underground Construction
  • Underground Utilities
  • Oil and Gas
  • Waste
  • Equipment Rentals
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations with a particular emphasis on U.S. Department of Transportation safety regulations
• Knowledge and familiarity with DOT hazardous material and cargo tank regulations effecting fuel transporters
• Ability to travel within the region and occasionally outside of it.
• Behavior based safety.
• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Safety or Occupational Health, or closely related.
• Will accept safety certifications with previous experience in lieu of degree
• Microsoft office suite.
