Summary:
The Executive Director of Undergraduate Education provides leadership and direction to university-wide retention programs, including new student academic transitions, First Year Advising, , and undergraduate education activities. The Executive Director also develops, implements, and monitors activities and interventions that contribute to retention efforts and support student thriving and success through the entirety of the undergraduate experience from admission to graduation. The position is charged with providing administrative and strategic partnership to the Dean of Undergraduate Education and Academic Student Services.
The Executive Director develops, implements, and assesses programs, activities, and interventions offered through the Office of the Dean of Undergraduate Education & Academic Student Services (DUEAS). The incumbent is responsible for utilizing retention and thriving assessments and data to drive the division’s academic support and advising functions. The position is responsible for leading cross-functional teams that align student supports with academic requirements, policies, and procedures.
The Executive Director works with key campus partners to translate assessment and evaluation findings into strategies and priorities that guide short and long-term action plans to improve programs and services, improve student success, and increase retention and graduation rates. The position represents UEAS and/or the Dean on projects, working groups, and committees as needed.
This position requires leadership and has decision-making and problem solving authority and responsibility.
This position will have a leadership role on the Steering Committee of the Enterprise Resource Planning conversation to Workday Student through 2027, and play a role in business process redesign throughout and after the project.

1.) Leadership/Strategic Program Planning & Development
Oversee and lead multiple university-wide functions related to new student academic transitions, advising, and assessment.
Ensure functional areas strategy, budget, human capital, and day-to-day activities are aligned with team, division, and institutional goals.
Leads university-wide first-year student advising function and deals with related issues pertaining to UG education.
Ensure that advisors are adequately prepared to serve students’ academic needs and have the resources required to do so.
Provide solutions to academic, administrative, and management problems involving students, faculty, staff, and others involved with the unit.
Leads strategic planning efforts which enable innovative academic intervention programs for at risk students.
These strategies will leverage qualitative and quantitative research and analysis of resources and alternatives as they pertain to specific student populations.
This work also entails analyzing current program offerings to determine strategies for creating efficiencies and where resources need to be added to have a greater impact and increased return on investment.
Oversee the production of high-quality assessment summaries for review by university stakeholders.
Manage and secure raw data collected from assessments and evaluations.
