Job Description
As Global Technical Accounts and Licensing Activities Manager you will be responsible to lead and manage the relationship with technology licensees.
The GTALA team operates across a broad range of activities and owns critical responsibilities including global contract negotiation; legal liaison between O-I and licensees/JVs; competitive bidding preparation (in collaboration with Global Engineering) and negotiation for capital projects at licensees/JVs; management and coordination of the execution of these capital projects; day to day technical service, assistance, and support; financial forecasting (corporate EBIT from equipment sales, technical assistance, and royalty); and intellectual property portfolio management and control.
This role orchestrates the collaboration with other functions to provide valuable technical service and assistance to our licensees and JVs. It is the liaison between licensees/JVs and the Global Technology & Supply Chain organization, and O-I Regional networks (manufacturing, commercial, business).
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Develop and manage customer relationship and build long-term partnership.
- Deliver value proposition beyond traditional equipment & spare parts sales.
- Promote O-I technical advancement and standardization roadmap aligned with O-I strategic initiatives.
- Proactively work together with licensees to promote continuous improvement.
- Align initiative to implement global manufacturing fundamentals.
- Establish Network Leads to participate in regional network meetings.
- Plan and coordinate O-I Training and audit and workshop programs for key stakeholders.
- Coordinate and manage Global Capital Project activity for Licensees/JVs; align with O-I Project Management Office and Global Engineering and Technical Capabilities to meet objectives.
- Develop accurate monthly financial forecast for Corporate EBIT calculations, with cost, price and margin clearly identified.
- Monitor Global Equipment Sales Account Receivable and clear outstanding balances, including monthly report out meeting with shared services and global finance.
- Control and manage Royalty revenue flow, ensure contract guidelines are being followed and work with Licensees to clear outstanding balances
- Direct collaboration across Global Technology & Supply Chain and other functions as appropriate to align and achieve overall objectives; establish adequate visibility with internal and external stakeholders
- Manage all aspects of the transfer of O-I Proprietary Equipment, Technology and Information to our Global network and Licensees.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Licensees and JVs with regular communication (teleconference and/or visits) to understand level of performance and satisfaction, to identify new requirement and business direction, and to enhance relationships with O-I.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
Develop and implement technology licensing strategy to maintain and expand value generation for O-I while adapting services and offering to customers to reflect changing needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline is preferred or equivalent work experience in Engineering field
- 5 - 10 years of experience in a management role, including leading remote team
- Technical background in glass manufacturing - must be able to understand customers’ needs and to describe O-I’s offering about glass container manufacturing and services
- Spanish language preffered
- Proven project management experience.
- Excellent people skills – to and interact with stakeholders of various background at all levels
- Excellent Presentation skills – must be able to pass the message in front of large groups with various management levels and to adapt to audience
