Registered Nurse (RN) Operating Room

Woodburn Surgery Center (WSC) is currently hiring Full-Time Registered Nurses to join the Operating Room. The surgery center staff do not work nights, weekends, holidays, or take call. Hours of operation are M-F, 0700-1730. 

The WSC is a state of the art, 4 Operating Room and 1 Procedure Room Outpatient Surgery Center that serves the musculoskeletal community and includes Sports Medicine, Hand, and Total Joint patient population.

Registered Nurse Operating Room Job Responsibilities:

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.
   

Requirements: 

• A minimum of one-year direct Operating Room Registered Nurse experience is required. 
• Orthopedic trained Operating Room Nurse is highly desired.
• Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an associate degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• RN License to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required (AHA).
• CNOR and Level 1 Trauma experience encouraged but not required.
