Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Component Paint Lead to support our D-Shift, Alternate Work Schedule (Weekends 5:00PM-5:30AM) based out of North Charleston, SC.

The Team Lead will be responsible for, but not limited to, performing tasks in the following areas: pre-shift planning, crew meetings, team status updates, labor loss, production control, training, process improvement and Lean/BPS.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs complex production assembly operations on structural parts, mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual or automated assembly tools.

• Builds effective resource plans.

• Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader.

• Updates and communicates BPS metrics.

• Identifies KPI improvement actions.

• Assigns daily work.

• Leads team in daily safety check-in.

• Monitors and reports daily progress to plan.

• Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk.

• Documents and communicates shift turnover.

• Establishes overtime requirements and staffing.

• Responsible for monitor and control of 5S.

• Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues.

• Creates standardized work instructions.

• Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training.

• Responsible for BPS process improvements.

• Leads Kamishibai audits and Gemba walks.

• Prepares exterior surface of aircraft for painting.

• Makes necessary patterns, performs layout, and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to exterior of aircraft.

• Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft sections.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Able to work 3x12 hour days (5PM-530AM) Weekends and overtime as needed.

• 3+ years of painting experience in aircraft.

• Required to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and respiratory protection masks.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Team Lead Experience

• 3+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting.

Summary pay range: $61,200 -$68,000
