Job Purpose/Summary:

The Lead- Capital, Design & Construction will lead all strategic planning and sourcing activities for related subcategories (e.g. Capital Platforms, Design/Build, Construction) with total spend of +$500 Million across the Kraft Heinz NA enterprise and 150+ suppliers.  This role will cooperate with Global Category Leads, and actively support the creation of the global category strategies, global initiatives/activities (i.e.: D4V, Build to print, supplier development program, supplier visits and qualification), and its execution in the region by being the bridge between global procurement and the region/zone. This position will leverage their experience and knowledge to lead team members who will build comprehensive strategies at the category level and execute the strategy through the sourcing process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Key competency expectations for the role are the ability to deeply understand and apply procurement processes, tools, and systems, drive positive change, implement & supervise lifecycle management process, be a proven expert in category planning, development & execution, as well as ability to achieve tangible results in driven and non-competitive supplier negotiations both directly and as a coach to others.

  • Lead a CAPEX Region/Zone, leading other professionals with solid/dotted reporting lines

  • Deliver targets for the assigned Region/Zone CAPEX Portfolio

  • Champion relationships with senior partners and act as the CAPEX Procurement Region/Zone escalation point

  • Lead Sourcing and Category Management for a wide portfolio of sophisticated and/or critical categories to Kraft Heinz

  • Establish and deliver performance goals for a portfolio of categories representing a significant amount of spend

  • Lead strategic sourcing projects for supplier selection/optimization to implement Category Management vision and strategies

  • Manage cross—functionally and zonally, to see the “big picture”

  • Lead Supplier Relationships and conducts Supplier Business Reviews in conjunction with Global CAPEX Procurement

  • High Level Escalation Point for Performance and Risk Issues

  • Collaborates with global procurement peers to ensure support of and alignment to the supported functions.

  • Lead discussions with critical suppliers around long-term objectives and strategies, ongoing market trends, innovation and technology advances, and potential investment decisions

  • Identify business needs at the sourcing and category project level in the following areas: Assurance of Supply, Quality, Service, Cost, and Innovation (AQSCI)

  • Develop multi-year sourcing strategy based on data, insights and business requirements. 

  • Build strong business relationships to increase influence/control over total category spend

  • Identify and evaluate potential value generating projects based on complexity, resources, risk, time to implement, and estimated financial impact.

  • Manage prioritized portfolio of projects for the category in the near and long term.

  • Executes highly complex contracts in accordance with policies and processes; ability to apply competency across categories.

  • Applies expert level of negotiation techniques and tools in all situations;

  • Actively maintain strong understanding of Regional/Zone category dynamics (current market, pricing, cost drivers, industry and supplier variables) through trade groups, publications, and communicates changes to the business

  • Manage Total Cost of Ownership at the category level through collaboration with Data Analytics, accountable for measuring and reporting value delivery.

  • Enable continuous process improvement and cost reduction.

  • Ensure the strategic sourcing process is robustly applied to all sourcing projects.

  • Experience with the largest food equipment manufacturers & industry leaders is a plus

  • Directly manage and develop internal and third-party administrator team resources

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

7+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement or combination of design, construction, or food equipment proven experience

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Familiarity with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools desirable (e.g. Ariba & Workday a plus), Experience in Supplier Performance & Risk Management tools desirable
