The Commerce + Ecosystems (C+E) team is working to enable an easier experience for customers and partners to grow, as well as to buy and do business with us by delivering a dependable, safe and secure commerce infrastructure. Our Ecosystems team is committed to driving discovery and awareness of Microsoft within our ecosystem of products and services, as well as reaching technical communities around the globe.

 

We are looking to hire a Senior Software Engineer to join the Customer Experience (CX) / Support Experience Group (SxG) team. We are building the next generation of our applications running on Azure that pull together Dynamics 365, Azure Communication Services, Azure Cognitive Services, and several other Microsoft cloud services to deliver high value, complete, and predictive application scenarios across all devices and form factors. We innovate quickly and collaborate closely with our partners and customers in a very agile environment.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design and develop internet scale services/solutions.
  • Lead and influence virtual teams of developers to deliver global, highly available, highly scalable services.
  • Leads processes for the architecture of a product/solution feature and creates proposals for architecture by testing design hypotheses and refining code plans
  • Lead and drive discussions with partners to understand ambiguous requirements and convert them into actionable execution plans
  • Demonstrate communication skills, including the ability to write concise and accurate technical documentation, communicate technical ideas to non-technical audiences, recognize patterns, and to lead development teams.
  • Assess existing and new technologies and determine their applicability to solving real technical challenges.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements: 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:   

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 8+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Solid skills in software system design and architecture. 
  • Experience with telemetry and data-driven development. 
  • Experience with web performance profiling and analysis. 

 

Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
