Job Description

• Uses a variety of hand tools, following blueprints, wiring diagrams, piping schemes or engineering specifications, to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair commercial HVAC units.
• Develops heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system modification plans and estimates jobs for remodel activities.
• Creates preventive maintenance checklists for new equipment.
• Interprets as-built building blueprints and recommends system modifications for remodel projects in accordance with applicable regulations.
• Researches and selects materials for HVAC systems installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Perform daily, monthly, semi and annual preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment.
• Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
• Complies with company and industry safety standards.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as needed

Qualifications

Requirements

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment
• Ability to use power and hand tools
• Ability to use thermometers, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing devices.
• Must be able to solder and Braze
• Must be able to work with all types of freon
• Excellent mechanical skills
• Journeyman HVAC technician
• Boiler and steam experience 
• Experience with Metasys systems
• Must be able to work alone or with others

Physical Demands:

• Work is performed while standing, sitting, walking, may require climbing, stooping, kneeling.
• Requires use of hands for grasping and fine manipulations
• Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching.
• Requires ability to lift, carry, push or pull weights up to 50 pounds solo or 100 pounds team lift
• Will require being around moving machinery, exposure to changes in temperature and humidity, and exposure to dust, fumes and gases.
• Must be comfortable working from heights
