Director of Accounting

We are looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee several areas of a large accounting department, who will report to the Controller and work with the Assistant Controller of a mid-size Government Contractor. 

Essential Job Functions:  

Payroll: 

·         Oversee the Payroll Department.

·         Serve as the Payroll Manager’s backup.

Indirect Rates and Pools:

·         Maintain the pool structure in Costpoint.

·         Review the pools monthly to ensure that calculations are accurate.

·         Manage the indirect rates and ensure that costs are recorded in the proper pool.

Technology Project Manager:

·         Oversee all software implementations and upgrades within the Finance Division.

·         Function as the Project Manager on larger projects to ensure that projects stay on schedule and within budget.

Work with department managers and staff to write specifications for new reports and function as liaison to the FP&A Department

Work with the Finance Workflow Developer and department managers to design and test new automated workflows

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Bachelors Degree and a minimum of 15 years of professional experience in an Accounting environment.

Minimum of 5 years of supervisory and leadership experience.

Minimum of 10 years of experience with Government Contract Accounting.

Working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and CAS.

Advanced knowledge of GAAP.

Experience with Payroll processes, systems and regulations.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to multi-task and stay flexible in a dynamic work environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and advanced Excel skills.

Desired Skills:

Experience with Costpoint 8.0 or higher.

Experience with UltiPro.

Familiarity with OnBase.

Project Management experience with software implementations.
