Air Liquide is seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Communications Head to support our operations in LATAM Cluster, including BSC operations. The total size in terms of Internal Communications will be 3.800 employees aprox. The Communications Head will be responsible for shaping and executing the company's communication strategy, defining projects to reflext employer branding, leaders management, social media, media.and ensuring consistent and effective messaging across various platforms for these three markets.
The Head of Communications is responsible for:
- Internal Communications and events
- External Communications and events
- Tools & visual
- Projects and Interfaces with Change Management
- Crisis Management
- Media management

In addition, this position will assist in strategically developing, implementing and supporting key communication projects for the Latin America (LATAM) Cluster.

The Key responsabilities of the position are:

  • Developing a cohesive communications strategy
  • Manage media relations
  • Crisis management and preemptive planning
  • Implement social media strategies
  • Hires and trains communications staff
  • Lead company events with events team
  • Manage external communications output
  • Manage public relations calendar
  • Managing a team of communications staff
  • Provides strategic advice to the business lines leadership teams for all the countries on internal and external communications, brand and reputation matters.
  • Leads or supports the roll out of a wide variety of strategic business initiatives for all the countries including public and business presentations, communications on key projects, investments, acquisitions, employee meetings, new product/service launches, community relations, etc.
  • Manages communications with pertinent internal stakeholders forall the countries including management, business development, HR, IT, the BSC and business partners to ensure effective communications, coordination and messaging.
  • Leads media relations activities related to the business lines and geographies (requests, key messages, Q&As).
  • Ensures planning and execution of internal communications for the business lines and geographies,, including but not limited to organizational changes (incl. organizational notices, change management, etc.)
  • In partnership with the local marketing teams and the Managing Director’s, increase visibility through strategic external engagement and media relations, including but not limited to the use of social media to position Air Liquide and its internal key stakeholders as innovative industry leaders.
  • Supports reputation management and business public speaking opportunities (incl. social media opportunities, trade shows, conferences, panels, etc.)
  • Supports all the countries with any communication needs (other than marketing). This includes but is not limited to overseeing press releases, events, branding for product development and campaigns, presentation for public use, brochures, video, etc. 
  • Monitor local and regional media outlets. Prepare press releases, articles, and statements, and act as the primary point of contact for media inquiries.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Crisis Management and Communication plan (GP05) for business lines (incl. position papers, handbook, key messages, Call-2!)
  • Be prepared to respond effectively to communication challenges and crises. Develop crisis communication plans and act as primary communications contact for the local crisis team.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Crisis Management and Communication plan (GP05) for Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay (incl. position papers, handbook, key messages, Call-2!)
  • Writes and edits copy for a wide range of purposes: internal communications, corporate intranets, newsletters, press releases, position papers, executive bios, speeches, articles, slides for presentations, and similar
