Sensor Electronics Manufacturing Team Manager 

 

 

 

STA Technologies produces unique materials and custom sensors to detect these materials. The Electronics Manufacturing Team Manager will work with our R&D Team, technicians, customer representatives and supplier partners to develop and manufacture high quality custom sensors and the methodologies necessary to provide maintenance and repair services through the life of the units. This person will lead the transition of prototypes from the R&D team to production-ready products by establishing the manufacturing process from parts ordering through quality control, as well as the troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of sensors returned from customer sites.

 

 

ROLE

 

 

  • Establish, evaluate and improve sensor unit manufacturing processes by applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with the design team and component suppliers; and soliciting observations from technicians and customer personnel.
  • Partner with the design team to assure a sensor design which is manufacturable and maintainable. Collaborate with the design team to resolve technical problems during product development and prototype manufacture. Participate in Technology Readiness and Manufacturing Readiness reviews with customer.
  • Assess risks to the manufacturing and maintenance of sensors, and mitigate risks through improvements to design, components and processes.
  • Perform and document Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Develop sensor Bills of Materials, workflow, and systems for configuration and change management, and traceability.
  • Develop manufacturing and quality control standard operating procedures for all aspects of sensor manufactur4ign and quality control, for both new sensors and maintenance of sensors returned from the field. Develop technician training and certification programs.
  • Establish configuration database, methods and procedures to facilitate repair and maintenance activities.
  • Establish metrics, monitor, analyze and improve performance to include supplier performance, manufacturing performance, labor, material cost, schedule, etc.,
  • Analyze manufacturing processes, schedules, methods, quality results and other data and provide management with reports to facilitate process improvements.
  • Monitor sensors deployed at customer sites and coordinate maintenance, calibration and repair services. Actively participate in sensor Management of Change (MOC) including responsibility for final implementation of approved changes into the production environment.
  • Identify and differentiate between manufacturing, design, and component issues, and coordinate resolution of the issues with the appropriate individual, group, or organization.
  • Perform Root cause analysis and identify and monitor corrective actions to resolve production and product issues.

 

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

 

 

PROFILE

 

 

 

  • B.S. Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including prior leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and hold a US Government security clearance at the Secret level.
  • Troubleshooting, advanced debugging, and testing skills.
  • Advanced problem solving and communication skills.
  • Statistical analysis.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability.
  • Experience implementing systems for continuous improvement.
  • Conscientious and detail oriented.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Tools.
  • Hardware Interfacing and Software Integration skills.
  • Database and Reporting Software experience.
  • Experience in process analytics and metrics reporting.
  • Experience with ISO requirements and UL/CE certifications desired.
  • Experience in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma desired.
