About the role

The Laboratory Co-Op is a 4-month training program for students currently enrolled in a 2-year technical degree or certification program seeking experience in an electrical/electronic testing laboratory. This is a part-time onsite position requiring 15-20 hours per week in our laboratories in Northbrook, IL.

  • Works with teams to ensure samples are ready and available for test and stored in the correct location. Checks samples against sample requirement and raises any issues to leadership team.
  • Builds and/or adapts basic setup and test equipment for performance of tests. Performs routine care of designated test equipment and work area.
  • Examines customer samples and learns to operate appropriate tests for each case with necessary supervision/support.
  • Populates data sheets and records observed or calculated test results. Assembles test data for appropriate distribution.
  • Performs other duties as directed.
  • Currently enrolled in a 2-year technical degree or technical certification program.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Suite.
  • Ability to use hand tools.
  • Desire to work in a team-oriented environment.
