As a Senior Supervisor Manufacturing, you will assure that DSM products are of consistent and high quality by supervising assigned areas in compliance with SHE and quality system requirements to achieve customer quality and service expectations. As the primary point of contact and guidance for operators who produce DSM medical devices, this position represents a critical link in ensuring company expectations are appropriately communicated, understood, and carried out by the team. The ideal candidate will have medical device or pharmaceutical industry experience.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily supervision in a Clean Room environment, maintaining a safe, productive, and cooperative workspace.

• Troubleshoot tooling/process problems that occur during daily production activities and correct or recommend changes as necessary.

• Manage Shop Orders and supporting paperwork for accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure adequate training of area operators and assigned operations inspectors.

Coordinate job, safety, and GMP training for production personnel as required.

• Act in accordance with Quality System/GMP and safety requirements and provide feedback to management regarding continuous improvement opportunities.

• Utilize system reports to review schedules/CEA WIP inventory to ensure that the production schedule is maintained; and to investigate and report on causes of shop order variances.

• Evaluate production operations for improved productivity and cost-efficiency.

• Support and back-up other Supervisors as needed.

• Complete other tasks as assigned by the area Manufacturing Manager.

• Preform planning for all production, R&D, and maintenance events occurring in designated areas to ensure that production schedules, customer requests and department goals are met.

• Analyze non-conformances and provide recommendations for material dispositions and correction actions.

• Complete NCR’s, Deviations, Corrective Actions, and ECO’s to record and control production events accurately.

You bring:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in science or engineering discipline or equivalent training and experience required.

• Good communications skills, understanding of engineering concepts, proven supervisory and management skills, computer literacy.

• Experience in Pharmaceutical or Medical Device Background.

• 3-5 years in a production role with progressive responsibilities.

• Experience in Mechanical Device Assembly (preferred).

• Commitment to SHE, integrity in following procedures, and to a fair and respectful work environment.

• The ability to effectively communicate with various levels of personnel within the business, including operators, functional department colleagues, managers and at times with external audit bodies and customers.

• Ability to keep the area running in a safe, efficient manner, with a goal to keep department team members motivated and satisfied. This requires the ability to multi-task, handle stress, function calmly in emergency situations and effectively deal with personnel issues. Because the end use of the product affects patient safety, there is a need to be very knowledgeable of the quality system requirements and reasonably well-versed in the technical aspects of the process. Good judgment and decision making is imperative.
