Working within the Merchant Growth pillar, you will be operating across our entire stack and building new systems to deliver groundbreaking features that grow our clients’ subscription programs. The ideal candidate is a natural leader and passionate engineer eager to see their contributions translate into clear and meaningful impact.

What you will do:

• Build new features that help our merchants grow their subscription programs and maintain meaningful relationships with their most loyal customers

• Learn and work across our entire stack, making contributions to various foundational systems

• Work on an agile team that partners heavily with product and UX to translate a product from vision-state into incremental and deliverable units of work

• Collaborate both within the team and with other engineers at OrderGroove to learn, modify, and enhance our systems

• Lead system design discussions and produce and review design documents that address wide-ranging technical challenges

 

About You:

• You have 4-5+ years of professional software engineering experience where you:

• Contributed to server-side systems in an object-oriented programming language

• Contributed to front-end applications using a modern javascript framework (e.g. React, Angular, Vue, Svelte, etc.)

• Delivered high-quality, well-tested, maintainable, and flexible code that ran in production at scale

• Leveraged software engineering best-practices such as CI/CD and version-control

• Engaged in the technical design of new features

• You are enthusiastic about learning new technologies and systems

• You are comfortable operating in an agile environment

• You are a gifted communicator capable of sharing your ideas and asking for help clearly both verbally and in writing

• You are a natural problem-solver that enjoys working with others to break down tough technical challenges

Bonus Points:

• While you aren’t expected to know our entire tech-stack on day 1, familiarity with any of the technologies we heavily leverage is a plus:

• Python and/or django

• React (w/ Remix an even bigger plus)

• WebComponents

• SQL (MariaDB) and/or NoSql (MongoDB) database technologies

• Docker

• Kubernetes

• GCP services

• Jenkins

• Knowledge of e-commerce ecosystems such as Shopify

• Start-up and SaaS experience

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field

• Experience mentoring others or leading an engineering team
