Job Summary

PSE&G is seeking a new member for the Technical Training team within the Transformation & Centralized Service organization at our Edison NJ location.  The team performs analysis, design, development and evaluation of technical training for PSE&G’s Electric Distribution LOB clients.  The successful incumbent will advance the training that supports a safe, skilled and efficient utility work force working in concert with a team of training professionals for PSE&G’s Substation Operator occupational groups. This role has a specialty of electric distribution system Substation Operations in accordance with job specifications, contract obligations, Technical Manuals and regulatory requirements with a special focus on Safety Tagging / Energy Control Procedures.

Job Responsibilities

The Training and Development Specialist will instruct, train, develop, demonstrate safe workplace practices and behaviors for a skilled and efficient utility work force working in connection with a team of training professionals.  The key elements of this role are:

•Conduct classroom presentations and hands-on field instruction and demonstration of safe work practices in electric distribution substation equipment installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
•Work with the Design and Assessment team to develop and maintain technical training materials as a subject matter expert in Substation Mechanic.
•Facilitate technical training assessments/ evaluations across multiple, concurrent electric distribution instructional programs.
•Provide assistance in other instructional areas or activities as needed.
•Collaborate with the Technical Training Manager and internal subject matter experts in support of identifying training needs of the Electric Distribution clients.  
•Work with process owners and process improvement managers across the utility to establish process efficiency.  
•Build strong internal and external relationship with all clients to stay abreast of operational changes relevant to effective training programs.
