This position will perform technical implementation of Software Asset Management in the ServiceNow Software Asset Manager module to support Equifax software cost savings, cost avoidance and vendor compliance. The SAM analyst will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software counters in accordance with Equifax software agreements and purchase records. This position will include a thorough knowledge of the ServiceNow software or comparable software to manage software assets, contracts, entitlements, purchase order records and licenses.

What you will do 

  • Adherence to functionality, quality, and schedule for IT Asset Management program. 

  • Manage status and communication of deliverables to ITAM Program Manager.

  • Deliver IT Asset Management functionality for overall solution while employing best practice methodologies.

  • Determine the best method/approach in capturing software license/contract information.

  • Create software counters and compliance reports for Equifax defined top tier vendors initially.

  • Analyze data managed within ServiceNow SAM Module to prepare for Vendor discussions and compliancy checks.

  • Manage data quality of software assets in ServiceNow SAM Module.

  • Identify new opportunities to automate Software Asset Management processes, including improving efficiencies and effectiveness.

  • Expands on existing SAM license management integrations with largest enterprise software vendors.

  • Acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for ITAM tools and processes.

  • Educates users on  SAM processes and tools.

  • Data integrity of SAM databases are critical, and emphasis is on the continuous improvement of its accuracy, completeness and quality through ongoing gap analysis, creation of workflow, enabling improved processes will be key to the success of this effort.

  • This role will work closely with the ServiceNow system administrators and configuration item (CI) owners and will focus on simplifying, automating, and scaling SAM practices across the enterprise.

  • SAM experience with a major publisher, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, Adobe. Preference to Oracle.  

  • Represent SAM team for audits: Internal, External, and Software Publisher.

What experience you need 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in Software Asset Management.

  • Minimum 2 year experience with ServiceNow SAM module or comparable Software Asset Management tool.

  • Strong understanding of the key licensing processes and challenges including the following:

    • entitlement management

    • order management

    • license renewals

    • license audit controls

    • license calculations: Adobe, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, CA, SAP, VMWare

    • proof of entitlements

    • manufacture SKU mapping to installed titles

  • Experience working with relational databases to facilitate system analysis, data cleaning, data transformation, and data modeling.

  • Experience with Procurement processes, Software Contracts and Renewals.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members, IT teams, internal customers and management.

What could set you apart 

  • Current cloud certification is strongly preferred.

  • Software Asset Management Certifications (IAITAM, IBSMA preferred).

  • Understanding of ServiceNow Discovery/CMDB.

  • Participated in a Vendor Audit.

  • Business Analyst and Project Management skills.
