The Osage News General Assignment Reporter is responsible for writing news articles as assigned by the Osage News Editor.

High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field preferred

• Two (2) years’ experience in a newsroom required
• Experience with public or media relations, or photojournalism preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs required
• Must be willing to challenge incomplete or inaccurate information
• Must possess keen attention to detail and the ability to perform work under deadlines
• Requires a high level of personal integrity and ethics
• Requires a high level of problem solving skills
• Some travel for articles, conferences and training sessions will be required
• Requires good interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
• Requires a high level of discretion and confidentiality
• Requires excellent organizational skills and ability to be a self-starter
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass drug/alcohol testing
• Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record – may be required to drive GSA or tribal vehicles
