About the role

Job Description


This position is a member of the Employee Relations team.  HR Policy and Compliance is responsible for researching, reviewing and assisting in the development of written policies, job aids, and processes to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. 

This position collaborates across Aramark Legal, HR COEs, Field HR, and Shared Services to ensure processes sufficiently support regulation and Aramark adheres to established processes.

This position reports to the Director, Employee Relations.
 

Job Responsibilities


•    Provide input to define a comprehensive HR policy and compliance strategy
•    Identify and utilize consistent channels to ensure up to date awareness of employment regulations issued at the local, state and federal levels
•    Review, interpret, and assist in the understanding of the actual impact existing and proposed regulation will have on the business, employment policies and programs
•    Advise management on steps needed to prevent or mitigate regulatory based issues in accordance with federal, state and local regulations in conjunction with HR and Legal 
•    Establish and utilize appropriate distribution methods for disseminating policy and compliance guidance with a broad perspective
•    Perform annual review for all current HR policies
•    Revise existing policies or develop new policies resulting from new legislation, case metrics, specific to policy inquires or employee feedback
•    Manage vendor relationship with Outside Counsel to coordinate updates of new or changing legislation
•    Partner with applicable HR teams to identify possible process changes needed because of new or modified policies
•    Act as consultant or advisor on said policy changes
•    Incorporate compliance, operational efficiency, and usability into suggested process changes
•    Collaborate with Legal, Compliance, and field leaders to enable Aramark’s I-9 compliance efforts
•    Collaborate with Aramark Legal and Talent Management (L&D) to develop and present specific regulatory training and guidance to HR, managers, and employees
•    Review of employee handbook content and develop cadence for updates 
•    Maintain .net HR policy and Compliance content
•    Develop and communicate process to ensure compliance with annual Affirmative Action Plans and quarterly updates
•    Prepare and maintain required reports, correspondence and records pertaining to regulatory compliance (i.e. EEOC, AAP) and provide, as needed, e.g. sales proposals
•    Partner with Third-party resources/vendors, e.g. Educe, Outsolve, JJ Keller, etc., as needed, to ensure compliance efforts are met
•    Create, modify, and maintain documentation, job aides, knowledge articles, and Employee Relations Sharepoint site on Company intranet. 
•    Participate in special projects including Employee Relations strategic planning and team professional development.  Perform other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field is required.
•    5+ years of experience as an HR Generalist and/or Employee Relations Specialist required.
•    1 year of experience demonstrated proficiency in preparing written documents such as policies and standard operating procedures.
•    Experience working in or supporting a multi-State environment required.
•    Extensive knowledge of applicable state and federal employment and labor laws and governmental compliance requirements strongly preferred.
•    HR Certification is preferred.
•    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization. 
•    Experience in a role that has supported a cross functional and/or shared services model.
•    Ability to critically analyze complex information with a precision to detail daily.
•    Ability to manage stressful situations with grace and diplomacy, remain neutral in employee relations matters, work with multiple deadlines or changing priorities.
•    Ability to analyze data and/or deal with ambiguity to provide management with constructive recommendations. 
•    Proven leadership and experience managing effective relationships, working collaboratively with others, and influencing outcomes. 
•    Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with Sharepoint preferred.
