Job Description
Huntington Ingalls Industries (HII) Mission Technologies Warfare Systems partners with the DoD and defense innovation ecosystem to rapidly acquire and field critical and emerging technologies, particularly integrated communications, networking, and Systems-of-Systems (SoS) technologies, to enhance national security and warfighter capabilities. Through a multiagency contracting approach, the Collaborative Operations for Battlespace Resilient Architecture (COBRA) initiative focuses on advancing these technologies to achieve multi-domain battlespace integration and resilient command and control. This includes a broad range of services such as systems engineering, cybersecurity, operational integration, and data analytics, all aimed at modernizing communications and ensuring seamless information exchange for the DoD and its allies.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Provides on-site engineering expertise (e.g., Space, Satellite, Advanced Technologies, multi-domain operations, Policy, Doctrine (i.e., Army, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Marine Corps)) and technical support to Mission Partner and COBRA capability developers. Provides expertise to improve and incorporate new technology, resolve problems, and further developmental processes. Provides engineering-based technical reports/recommendations (Del. 17). Gathers input and requirements for methodology development, tool modification, prototypes (Del. 20) and tailored support to Mission Partners. Provides on-site assistance, instruction, and education to partner-site personnel to enable use of developed capabilities. Collaborates with capability developers to enable customization of capability features and functionality to meet mission-partner requirements. Enables a robust community of users by facilitating sharing of analysis methods and use cases between partner-site personnel, analysts, and personnel at other partner sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- 15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 19 years relevant experience.
- Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Effective oral and written communication abilities
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with DoD systems and acquisition lifecycle
- Proficiency with systems modeling or simulation tools
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
