The Workday Developer Experience team is looking for hardworking, passionate, software engineers to help us make tools for our developer community to extend the value of Workday. You will be joining a full stack development team who is responsible for new and existing features, along with the scalability and performance of the Workday developer website and tools.

About the Role

This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to plan, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to our quickly growing developer community

• Write clear, efficient, and scalable code with an eye towards maintainability

• Participate in design and code reviews

• Discover and troubleshoot issues with existing architecture and code base

• Polish, improve, and innovate with regards to the existing code base

• Support the release planning by understanding the details (effort, risk, priority) of the planned features in an agile environment

• Own and contribute to team productivity/process improvements

About You

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of relevant experience developing and maintaining modern web applications

• 1+ years experience with front end technologies such as JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Angular, NextJS, and related frameworks

Other Qualifications:

• A demonstrable record of taking design ideas to working software

• Proficient in HTML and CSS best practices

• Knowledge of common design patterns and when to use them

• Proficiency with major development tools and processes such as IDEs, revision control, continuous delivery, and test automation

• Ability to work with product managers to clarify and prune requirements

• Hands on experience with cloud development technologies and platforms, (AWS, Kubernetes, Helm, Terraform)

• Experience working in a fast-paced ever changing Agile environment

• Previous experience creating websites from scratch

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related fields

• You are a service owner who loves to code!
