Senior/Staff Application Engineer-Military Marine
The Marine Applications Controls and Power Management role designs, models, and creates control code for Woodward control systems used in mission-critical power management systems on marine platforms, with an emphasis on functions like generator synchronization, load sharing/shedding, fault isolation, and overall grid stability. The position partners closely with cross-functional internal teams and works directly with customers such as shipbuilders and defense contractors to define requirements and deliver reliable solutions. It also requires hands-on development and optimization of real-time control code (e.g., GAP/nVe), validation of control strategies using electrical plant simulation tools (e.g., Simulink), and integration of distributed energy resources into shipboard power architectures
Senior: Estimated annual base pay: $93,000-$121,000
Staff: Estimated annual base pay: $113,000-147,000

Senior Application Engineer:
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Maintenance: Fully proficient with application software and associated operator interface/HMI software to support test setups, debug recommendations, and software changes.
- Advanced Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves intricate technical challenges by analyzing multiple information sources and applying innovative solutions.
- Application Processes: Supports the commercial group in proposal creation, technical support of commercial offers, and customer presentations. Creates product specifications, software and application literature for Minor Scope Projects/Systems.
- Project Management: Leads small to medium sized engineering projects, coordinating resources and timelines to achieve project objectives.
- Technical Leadership: Guides the design and implementation of complex application systems, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.

- Effective Communication: Proficient in conveying difficult or sensitive information and fostering consensus.
