Position Purpose

Mercy Care Atlanta is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Behavioral Health Consultant to support our mission of providing integrated, holistic care to underserved communities. This role focuses on psychoeducational assessments, therapeutic support, and behavioral health education for children ages 0–8, with occasional care for ages 9–12. Under the supervision of the Behavioral Health Services Coordinator, the consultant works closely with families, schools, and interdisciplinary teams to promote emotional and developmental well-being.
 

What You Will Do

  • Conduct behavioral observations and assessments in classrooms and early learning centers

  • Facilitate meetings with parents, teachers, and school leadership to support treatment planning

  • Lead workshops for parents on social-emotional development and positive behavior strategies

  • Provide evidence-based interventions and prevention services to children and families

  • Link families to community resources and offer ongoing case management

  • Collaborate with primary care teams and participate in interdisciplinary meetings

  • Support community health events and educate stakeholders on behavioral health care

  • Deliver clinical support to the behavioral health services team

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in social work, psychology, health education, or related field

  • Licensure (LAPC, LMSW, LPC, LMFT, or LCSW) preferred

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mental health and educational settings

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to work independently and in teams

  • Proficiency in electronic documentation and computer literacy

  • Valid Georgia Driver’s License and reliable transportation

  • Bilingual Spanish proficiency strongly preferred
