Job Description
AECOM has a position available for a Senior Project Architect to join our Buildings + Places team in Orlando, FL. In this role you will be responsible for your own projects!
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
- Has full responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating technical assignments.
- Generally, requires multi-disciplinary knowledge of building architecture engineering.
- Plans and develops architectural tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems.
- Technical expertise to design complex, multidisciplinary projects in a firm that handles both private and government work
- Maintains liaison with teams and management within the organization outside of the organization.
- Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to the field.
- Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior architects, fostering professional development and contributing to a positive office culture.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, urban planners, landscape architects, and interior designers, to ensure integrated design approaches.
- Performs various management, leadership, and people accountability responsibilities for a specific technical group or department.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Must be a Licensed Architect in the United States
- Previous Client facing experience
- Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other industry-standard software.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of relevant architectural experience is preferred
- Previous Architectural experience in Florida is helpful
- Previous experience designing large complex buildings in sectors such as hospitality, municipal buildings, sports architecture, civic, healthcare, justice, education, transportation, or public infrastructure.
- NCARB certification
- Previous experience identifying new clients/work is helpful
- Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency is a plus
