JOB SPECIFICATION: TRAVELING OPERATOR C

DUTIES: Under general supervision, on a schedule to operate and be responsible for all activities involved in the operation of the unattended generating stations, and/or substations. Duties to include:

• Periodic inspection of equipment and properties, including public safety and dam safety devices;

• Record readings, log information and compile and issue reports;

• Perform routine tests;

• Act as operating authority on LOTO procedures;

• Act as a system controller when delegated “controllership”;

• Starting and stopping of large rotating machines;

• Direct operation of lines and stations equipment as required;

• Assist other operators as required;

• Maintain clean and orderly conditions;

• Do minor maintenance work, or when on schedule, to work in a maintenance crew as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Should have minimum one year experience as a Traveling Operator A or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate ability in station operation to which assigned and a thorough knowledge of the layout, equipment, and operating requirements of the generating stations, systems and associated switch-gear to which assigned.
• Must have general mathematical skills and aptitude.
• Must have demonstrated a thorough and complete knowledge of Company policies and practices relative to System Operations.
• Must have the ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Must demonstrate ability to think clearly and logically and apply an analytical approach to problem resolution under rapidly changing conditions.
• Must interface well with others, clearly communicating decisions and information.
