Retail Store Design Manager

*This is a hybrid in office position, in office 4 days per week*

Wayfair’s Physical Retail Design team is seeking a Retail Store Design Manager to support store design & development with our store design team that will enable Wayfair’s physical retail agenda. Wayfair is building a physical retail platform for both Wayfair & Specialty Retail Brands that is the offline destination for home. We believe there is a white space in the brick-and-mortar market and an opportunity to create a differentiated retail experience that showcases the breadth and depth of our catalog. This presents a great opportunity for Wayfair to develop and execute a retail strategy at scale. To achieve this, Wayfair is looking to build a team that can define and drive our ambitious physical retail agenda.

This dynamic manager is responsible for supporting the design management and implementation across our current physical retail brands (Wayfair, AllModern, Joss&Main). This role is responsible for supporting our relationships with retail design partners including: architects, fixture manufacturers and third party consultants. Working with leaders within Physical Retail Design this role works cross functionally with Operations, Merchandising, Creative, IT & Brand teams to help translate inputs into architectural store concepts to achieve the goals of the business. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the design & architectural implementation across all physical retail brands. Driving the execution of store layouts, fixture development, & helping to maintain vendor/architectural partnerships. 
• Partner with the Physical Retail teams to ensure design supports and enhances brand, marketing, merchandising, store operations, IT, etc. 
• Work with cross functional teams to develop test fits for new locations 
• Manage initial and ongoing design elements such as fixturing, lighting and store design based on key business learnings
• Support design leaders in developing project management timeline, design budget,  and communications to relevant stakeholders 
• Facilitates vendor relationships including contracts, budgets & timelines. Onboarding and RFP experience preferred. 
• Support the design leaders in prototype development and package revisions for each store concept 
• Manage samples, specifications and fixture design guides for established prototype concepts 

Requirements: 

• 5+ years in retail design, store planning, architectural prototype design, or architectural project management. Store design and project management experience required. 
• AutoCAD, SketchUp & adobe suite skill sets
• Degree in architecture, interior design,  and industrial design preferred. 
• Skill set in fixture design, procurement and ongoing fixture program maintenance
• Strong business management skills; demonstrated ability to create and lead projects 
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders at the same time
• Experiences with retail prototyping, testing and vendor relations 
• Boston Based position 

Travel required  - under 10%
