Security ensures the credentialing of visitors, provides surveillance of the company's facilities, enforces regular security standards and procedures, responds to security crises, and manages relationships with security vendors.
Job Summary
The Manager, Global Security will support risk mitigation to company assets, some of which include employees, visitors, products, reputation, facilities, and the communities in which we do business. This role must develop relationships with all levels of the organization and be prepared to provide solutions to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner. The person should be practical, proactive, and innovative, to ensure the Global Security department’s objectives and security industry best practices are communicated and executed.
To ensure all department goals are met/exceeded, the Global Security Manager will partner with the Regional Security Director (RSD) in collaboration with all department team members, multiple corporate functions, business unit leaders, and external partners.
***This opportunity is remote; however, this Manager will support the western region and being located in California or Texas is preferred.
Responsibilities
Regional Support and Program Management (80%)
- Assist with mentoring a network of Security Coordinators (SC’s) based in the region, ensuring SC’s have needed tools and information to optimize the role
- Ensures SC’s and facility leadership understands security assessment program, and partners to ensure completion and delivery of recommended corrective measures
- Works to ensure a secure supply chain program, by partnering with internal and external partners
- Works with Environmental Health & Safety, METT (Meetings, Events, Tradeshows and Travel), Security Technology, SOIC, and any non-department entities, ex. QRA, to ensure complementary Global Security programs
- Assists RSD to influence senior leaders to advocate and facilitate compliance with Security programs
- Proactively identifies new technologies and products to evolve Security Programs developed and implemented at Cardinal Health facilities
- Benchmark with peers at other companies, including competitors, on program trends and activities
- Supports executive protection program and METT by providing security solutions for special events
Training (20%)
- Partners with RSD to conduct effective security awareness, threat assessment, and WPV prevention training program for employees within our facilities and in the field
- In partnership with facility leadership and EHS, support crisis management tabletop exercises
- Supports RSD to create targeted training to corporate function partners (ex. QRA, Transportation, Sales), to ensure Global Security program initiatives are weaved into their SOP's
Qualifications
- 5+ years’ experience within a corporate setting, law enforcement, or military.
- Bachelor's degree within the following fields of study: Business, Criminal Justice, Psychology, Criminology, Sociology, or Security Management, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
- Experience in enterprise-wide security programs preferred.
- Security, investigations, and contract security services management within the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
- Experience developing and implementing policies, procedures, standards, training materials and methods for identifying and protecting assets, ex. information, product, personnel, property, facilities, and operations from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, vandalism, product tampering, espionage, sabotage, or loss.
- Proven track record of ensuring security programs and strategies are in-line with best practices, effectively developed, implemented, and maintained.
- People management, development and training experience is preferred.
- Firm understanding of the balance between business and security.
- Functional knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, maintaining, and managing security/safety policies and procedures is required.
- Knowledge of budget processes and making sensible security upgrades to business leaders.
- Experience conducting physical security risk assessments of various types of facilities including pharmacy, office space, manufacturing, and distribution facilities.
- Developed, implemented, and managed security awareness training programs and materials.
- Knowledge of incident command processes and overall emergency response is required.
