- Perform technical data science duties and oversee a team of Data Scientists.
- Serve as an analytics leader to work on Meta’s core social media products and drive informed business decisions.
- Oversee the work of Data Scientists as they perform quantitative analysis and data mining.
- Work with one of the richest data sets in the world and cutting edge technology.
- Use analytics to drive the understanding, progression, and user engagement of a product.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and metrics to monitor the performance of products.
- Present statistical data to management in order to inform, influence, and execute Meta’s product decisions.
- Drive data science efforts, communicate cross-functionally, and be a subject matter expert.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership teams to identify trends and opportunities, and to develop strategic problem solving road maps.
- Lead Data Scientists as they mine massive amounts of statistical data and extract useful product insights.
- Manage the development of data resources, requirements gathering, source organization, and the execution and delivery of product launches.
- Inform, influence, support and execute our product decisions.
- Support organizational efforts to screen and recruit members to the data science
team. - Onboard and mentor junior team members to help them develop required skills and knowledge to be successful on the team.
- Create road maps and prioritize work to optimize the impact of the data science team.
- Develop and communicate clear requirements and goals for team members.
- Provide timely and actionable feedback on performance to team members.
- Support the individual and career growth of team members to minimize attrition and maximize impact.
- Help promote an unbiased and rewarding work environment by fairly and accurately recognizing high impact team members.
- Employer will accept a Bachelors’ degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Applied Sciences, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field, and 36 months of work experience in the job offered or in a data science or computer-related occupation
- Experience must include 36 months of experience in the following:
- 1. Quantitative analysis techniques: clustering, regression, pattern recognition, or descriptive and inferential statistics
- 2. Data analysis and algorithm development
- 3. Optimization, probability, statistics, or machine learning
- 4. Large data stores
- 5. ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
- 6. Relational databases and SQL
- 7. Development in PHP, Python or Perl
- 8. Large data sets
- 9. Large scale data processing infrastructure using distributed systems (Hadoop, Hive, MapReduce, Teradata, or MPI)
- 10. Statistical analysis packages such as: R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS or Stata
- 11. Technical presentation skills
- 12. Working with cross-functional teams to choose/create metrics and set metric goals
- 13. Mentoring junior team members and contributing to organizational development
