This role focuses on providing professional and nonprofessional nursing care services in accordance with physician ordersIn addition, this role focuses on performing the following Nursing Leadership duties: Controls, directs, and participates in the activities of the organization through a hierarchy of managers and supervisors. Responsibilities also include long-term strategic planning, determining the policies of the organization, and allocating its resources and making decisions regarding organization growth and diversification to accomplish entity's vision.   A management role that supervises employees focusing on tactical, operational activities within a specified area, with the majority of time spent overseeing area of responsibility, planning, prioritizing and/or directing the responsibilities of employees. Goal achievement is typically accomplished through performance of direct and/or indirect reportsA role that manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignmentsResponsibilities typically include:  policy and strategy implementation for short-term results (1 year or less), problems faced are difficult to moderately complex, and influences others outside of own job area regarding policies, practices and procedures. 

 

Job Overview 

This position plans, organizes, and oversees daily clinical and administrative operations of designated unit/program or serviceAssumes accountability and responsibility for translating the philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures and nursing/patient care services into effective action. Prepares staff schedules, requests, and allocates resources and facilitates coordination of care/services to meet patient care and operational requirements. Develops and sustains an environment that promotes excellence in clinical practice and customer satisfaction, while striving for optimal efficiency, productivity, and utilization of all resources. Works cooperatively within department and other services to create a system of quality health care. 

 

Job Description 

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN). 

2. Registered Nurse (RN) license. 

3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. 

4. Three (3) years of nursing leadership experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN). 

2. Five (5) years of nursing leadership experience. 

3. Nursing specialty certification.
