Overview Of Position
The Senior Corporate Dietitian, as a nutrition subject matter expert in OPTAVIA programs, plans and products, development of plan relevant recipes, conducting plan and product nutritional assessments and analysis, supports brand integrity by contributing to development of relevant FAQs, marketing collaterals and training of internal and external customers. The Senior Corporate Dietitian creates and manages program, plan and product nutrition knowledge base for consistency of brand message across Medifast/OPTAVIA, increasing the lifetime value of our coaches and clients. This position also represents the department and leads key initiatives to identify coach and client needs to create nutrition program materials to improve coach and client confidence and success and promote healthy habit development.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage recipe projects by developing, testing and analyzing program appropriate recipes. Develop best practices, strategy, communication campaign and create monthly, quarterly and annual metrics summary. Coordinate sharing of recipes via OPTAVIA APP and ensure robustness and quality of information.
- Represent Medifast/OPTAVIA at PR events, trainings, professional events and conventions, as well as through various media channels (e.g., social networks, broadcast and print media, etc.), consistently conveying, evidenced-based messaging to support clients and coaches. Identify key conferences to attend and opportunities to support the vision and mission of the company.
- Manage internally- and externally facing nutrition knowledge databases, FAQs, marketing assets, social media, and websites to ensure accuracy and consistency of messaging, across all markets.
- Manage, identify and create and/or revise targeted nutrition program guides to meet business needs and support the success of both coaches and clients. Lead revision and implementation process for the department by working with stakeholders in other departments, including marketing, legal, Scientific and Clinical Affairs and IT, to revise, train and implement client and coach facing materials for accuracy, up-to-date and consistent messaging.
- Create, manage and deliver training modules on programs, products and nutrition protocol that are relevant to the OPTAVIA model and promote coach and client competence and confidence. Training will target both domestic and international markets.
- Contribute to the design and advise on nutritional aspects of new products and programs; provide educational materials and collateral to promote the safe and effective use of the products/programs.
- Manage process for supporting high profile clients, (i.e. coach leaders, celebrities, bloggers) with marketing to ensure demonstrated success on the program.
- Take lead on proactively mentoring new Nutrition and Wellness team members and assisting with training Nutrition Support team members.
- Maintain occasional support of clients and coaches via Nutrition Support during high volume times.
Knowledge, Education, Skills & Abilities
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health sciences or related field. (minimum)
- Highly Desired: Master’s degree in nutrition, health sciences or related field. (highly desired)
- Required: 5-10 years experience in a nutrition, health sciences or related field.
- Required: Registered Dietitian with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and/or Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist.
- Highly Desired: Culinary experience and interest.
- Ability to work with confidential customer and company information.
- Working knowledge of computer software including Microsoft Office, Nutrient Analysis software like Genesis.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
