We’re searching for a Senior Tax Manager to join our growing and evolving finance and accounting team.  This position will report to the Tax Director.  

 

Responsibilities of the Senior Tax Manager position include the following: 

 

  • Assist with the monthly sales tax return process, working closely with outside consultants. 
  • Manage and maintain customer sales tax exemptions in Vertex.
  • Assist with the preparation of Cantaloupe’s consolidated U.S. Federal, state and local, and foreign income tax returns. 
  • Assist with the preparation of Cantaloupe’s quarterly and annual income tax provision in accordance with ASC 740, working closely with Cantaloupe’s accounting team and outside consultants. 
  • Assist with the monthly and quarterly VAT filings, working closely with Cantaloupe’s accounting team and outside consultants.
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly SOX tax controls.
  • Assist with income, sales and use, and property tax audits.
  • Manage and maintain tax notices. 
  • Assist with quarterly tax account reconciliations.
  • Manage Cantaloupe’s 1099K and 1099 NEC compliance process.
  • Manage the annual property tax compliance process, working closely with outside consultants.
  • Manage Cantaloupe’s Abandoned and Unclaimed Property process. 
  • Work closely with Cantaloupe’s legal team to prepare business license filings.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.

Position Requirements

 

In addition to the necessary skills and experience to perform the responsibilities outlined above, there are a number of traits that a successful candidate will possess.  

 

Technical

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in tax, accounting, finance, or related business field.  
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
  • Ability to lead projects and interface and communicate effectively with corporate management and all other functions in the Company. 
  • Knowledge of the following applications: Vertex Cloud as a sales tax calculation platform, Netsuite as an ERP system, OneSource 1099 as a 1099 preparation platform, and Checkpoint as a tax research platform.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
