Boeing SCS is searching for a Electronics Design Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) located in Pleasanton, CA.

We are looking for you to bring your extensive FPGA experience for complex real-time embedded systems.  You can expect your activities to include design, analytical, implementation, and testing of HDL components and software driver development. Additionally, all testing will be performed both in simulation and target hardware environments.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead circuit design, schematic capture, board layout, circuit simulation and FPGA logic design/simulation.

  • Analyze and translate requirements into system architecture, hardware and software designs and interface specifications.

  • Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements

  • Support fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle

  • Investigate emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements

  • Contribute to development of electronic architecture and detailed specifications for various electronic products

  • Assist in development of detailed designs consistent with requirements and specifications

  • Conduct various methods of testing and analysis to support design

  • Gather data for technical performance measures

  • Assist in providing engineering support throughout the lifecycle of the product

  • Work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple projects concurrently and working with geographically dispersed teams

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment.

  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • (Level 3) 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 3+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR a PhD and work-related experience

  • (Level 4) 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelors OR 7+ years of work-related experience with a Masters OR 4+ years work-related experience with a PhD

  • Knowledge in WHDL/Verilog Hardware Description Languages

  • Experience in circuit design, schematic capture and analysis with Mentor Graphics or other PCB design software.

  • Proficient in simulation, modeling and analysis of electronic hardware

  • Experience in digital design and/or FPGA implementation

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 10+ years of experience in digital design and/or FPGA implementation.

  • PCB design & PCB assembly verification, debug, troubleshooting & repair

  • Expert level in VHDL/Verilog Hardware Description Languages

  • Experience with PCIe, DDR, I2C, SPI and Quad SPI protocols and interfaces

  • Experience with commonly used on-chip bus protocols including Avalon, Amba, and SRIO

  • Expert level in Simulation, Modeling and Analysis of Electronic Hardware

  • Experience with Altera and/or Xilinx FPGAs and tools

  • Analog Design, Switch Mode and Linear Power supplies

  • FPGA Security – Secure boot, SecMon, Fencing, Partial Reconfiguration

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
